Risk Factors for Poison Ivy
Those who are in close contact with nature, such as forestry workers and fire fighters battling against forest fires may develop lung irritation or rashes due to contact with poison ivy.
How Poison Ivy spreads
Poison ivy dermatitis can spread if an infected person accidentally rubs the poison ivy into other skin areas. The skin can also be sensitive to residual urushiol that is present on clothing, gardening tools, firewood and even pet’s fur. Sometimes, it can spread through smoke when the poison ivy plant has been burnt.
